With more than 60 years of experience in the development and manufacture of coated technical fabrics and our in-house product development and research, we are able to meet the most demanding needs of our customers. We are only Finnish manufacturer of technical fabrics

We are the only Finnish manufacturer of high-quality coated technical fabrics and protective materials in Finland. Our factory and office are located in Sorsasalo, Kuopio, near the Kalla Brigdes, within a stone’s throw from the city centre.

Our local production and in-stock product range enable smooth cooperation and a quick response to our customers’ needs. Many customers value Finnish-made products, as they see them as a guarantee of quality and reliability. Domestic production also strenghtens Finnish employment, and our factory and office currently employ around 50 people.

A wide selection of technical fabrics for various applications

We have a wide selection of technical fabrics and protective materials for our customers’ applications. Our materials are suitable for applications such as buildings, screens and curtains, inflatable boats, oil containment booms, chemical containers and airtight structures, cover and doors.

We coat both woven and knitted fabrics with PVC, polyurethane, PVC-polyurethane bends and other thermoplastic coatings.

The application always determines the fabrics’ technical qualities. The qualities to be considered when choosing a Scantarp fabric include strength, fire resistance, special UV protection, light transmission, frost and chemical resistance as well as electrical conductivity.

Specialty fabrics for even the most demanding conditions

In addition to our stock products, our selection includes specialty fabrics for even the most demanding conditions. The materials are exceptionally resistant to extreme conditions from the freezing cold of the North to the scorching heatwaves of the South. Uncompromising UV and mildew protection ensures long-lasting durability for years to come. Many of our specialty fabrics, designed specifically for harsh environments, are available exlusively from us at Scantarp.

We have received special recognition for our excellent mesh materials and high-quality military-grade fabrics. Our customers have told us that their end products are specifically requested to be made using Scantarp materials.

Flexible and agile product development

Our in-house product development and research ensure our ability to meet even the most demanding customers needs.

Sustainability is a central part of Scantarp’s product development work. That is why we have created ScanECO-product that is made entirely from recycled materials. The raw material for base fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, and the PVC coating is produced using surplus masses of our own manufacturing process.
